Week 11 - 28th May Upload

Good morning everyone! I hope you are all well and are enjoying your half term.

Thank you to those of you who have uploaded homework - we had a range of work including maths, times tables, a book cover and a riddle. Your homework this week is to upload a piece of work that you are proud of. I'd love to see some colourful comic strips but you can upload any piece of work that will make me smile. smiley After half term, we will begin our exciting new topic.

I hope you have all watched the staff video for Budbrooke's Got Talent and Mr McKee's guitar performance. We really had fun performing and practising to get the dance moves right.

Week 10 - 20th May Upload

Hello Holly Class,

I hope you and your families are all keeping well. Thank you again for the homework you are sending in - I am enjoying reading your work and am even finding out new facts!

The homework this week, like last week, is to upload a piece of work that you are proud of - perhaps you have learnt a new skill or included a particular type of punctuation that you haven't been confident in using before. Perhaps you are particularly proud of a maths problem you have solved or you have worked on something with your family.

Keep up the hard work. I am very proud of you all for giving 100% effort to your school work. And, I really can't wait for Budbrooke's Got Talent. Have you sent in your performance?

Week 9 - 13th May Upload

Hi, Holly Class,

How is everything? Thank you to those of you who wrote me a message on School Spider. It was lovely to hear from you.

I am very well and have re-discovered an old hobby...I found my sewing machine and made a flag for VE Day. I wonder how you all celebrated and whether there were any socially-distanced street parties.

This week's home learning tasks link to our Heroes and Villains topic and to Piggy Hero. The maths activities link this week to the White Rose resources as usual and are taken from the Summer Term Week 4 resources.

Thank you for uploading homework to School Spider. It's really lovely to see the work you are proud of and helps to keep us connected at this strange time. Please upload a piece of homework this week - something that you are really proud of - and I will mark it for you.

Have a great week,

Miss Fletcher

Week 8 - 6th May Upload

Hello Holly Class,

How are you all? Have you been busy practising for Budbrooke's Got Talent? smiley I can't wait to see all your performances.

This week, we have lots of activities linked to celebrating Victory in Europe (VE) Day. Friday is a very special day for our country and I wonder how you and your families will be celebrating.

For the maths videos and answers, open the White Rose Home Learning web page, find your year group and look in Summer Term - Week 3 (4th May). The Maths Challenge answers are on the same website but in the Summer Term Week 2 files.

This is the link to the wartime recipe booklet if you are finding it too large to download.

**You may have seen Mr. McKee's email about homework. I have set the Computing (ICT) task as the homework task that I will mark for you.**

Work hard and have fun. smiley

Hi Holly Class,

I've also uploaded the Week 7 work for you - it's a bit early, I know, so complete the Week 6 work first. smiley

For the maths videos and answers, open the White Rose Home Learning web page, find your year group and look in Summer Term - Week 2 (27th April).

Week 6 - 22nd April Upload

Hello Holly Class,

Have you seen that one of the peregrine falcon eggs has hatched?

This week (Week 6), there is an exciting creative writing competition you can enter called Isolation Station. It will be judged by a member of the National Literacy Trust and the winner will have their work read out on air! I have attached the file for you.

This is also an exciting week because we start our new topic:

Heroes and Villains!

Of course, it will make us all think of the everyday heroes who are working hard to keep us all safe and healthy at the moment.

We have linked some of your tasks this week to the text: The One Hundred and One Dalmatians.

Your English task is to read/watch an extract from The One Hundred and One Dalmatians and write a character description about Cruella De Vil.

Miss Osborn has finished recording the final two chapters of The Sheep Pig and there is a guided reading task linked to this.

For maths, we would like you to complete  4 maths lessons about fractions. There are separate activities for Year 2 and Year 3 and if you go to this website, there is a video that talks you through how to achieve the tasks and the answers are there too.  https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/  Just click on your year group then the w/c 20th April lessons. I've also saved the tasks to the files section for you.

For Science, we'd like you to think about magnets and answer some scientific questions.

We've also included some Music and Design and Technology tasks for you this week which link to The One Hundred and One Dalmatians.

Remember to take care over your spellings, handwriting and grammar and think about making yourself proud of your work by giving it 100%.

Have a great week,

Miss Fletcher

If you are finding that some of the pdf is cut off when you print, follow the pdf Printing Instructions saved in the files section.

If you print direct from the White Rose website, you may need to download the pdf and save it (e.g. to your desktop) then it should print correctly.
