Year 4 - Holly 2021 - 2022
Maths Subject Leader
Welcome to Holly Class' learning page. Here you can find relevant information about our learning in school, including: timetables, weekly English and maths homework, as well as daily home learning if you are isolating at home.
Our topic this half term is 'Burps, Bottoms and Bile' which is a Science-based topic.
We are exploring the text 'Demon Dentist' as part of our guided reading lessons.
Burps, Bottoms and Bile
Open wide – let’s take a look inside. We’re on a voyage of discovery to investigate the busy world inside your body. Do you have a toothy grin or a winning smile? Take dental impressions and test the effects of sugary substances on your pearly whites.
Follow a tasty morsel as it makes its way through your digestive system, helped by some mouthwatering saliva. And don’t forget the importance of good hygiene at both ends. And whilst we’re talking business, could you recognise an animal just by its poo? Are you brave enough to take the challenge?
Make a working model of the digestive system and use it to persuade others to eat healthily.
Learn how to look after this marvellous belching, squelching, mixture making machine we call our body
It Takes A City at the Royal Albert Hall
We are delighted to inform you that Holly Class has been invited to perform at the Royal Albert Hall (London) on Tuesday 24th May at 7pm as part of a massed choir of 2,500 singers accompanied by a professional orchestra and singers. The event is being organised by the Internationally acclaimed Armonico Consort and promises to be a very exciting evening! The flyer for this exciting event is saved in the Files section.
Over the Easter holidays, it would be superb if the children could practise the songs and start to learn the lyrics. We will continue to practise in school too.
P.E. day is Thursday. Please come to school dressed in your P.E. kit on this day.
Home learning and spellings are set on Wednesday and are due back on Monday. Please complete your English and maths work at home and find time to practise your weekly spellings.
