At Budbrooke Primary School, we believe that excellence should be achieved across the entire curriculum. We have carefully designed a curriculum that enables children to acquire a rich depth of knowledge, skills and understanding, while fostering curiosity, enjoyment and a lifelong love of learning.

Our foundation subjects are delivered through engaging and purposeful units of work that make meaningful connections across the curriculum whilst maintaining the integrity and distinctiveness of individual subjects. Through the exploration of a wide range of themes and concepts, children develop an understanding of their local community, the wider world and significant events from the past. These themes provide opportunities for pupils to deepen their knowledge and make links between subjects, helping them to see learning as interconnected and relevant.

Throughout each unit, children are encouraged to explore learning in a variety of ways through language, literature, art, music, design, technology, outdoor learning and practical experiences. We believe that children learn best when they are actively involved, and we therefore place great value on first-hand experiences that bring learning to life.

To further enrich our curriculum, we provide a range of memorable opportunities including educational visits, visiting speakers, workshops, performances, sporting activities and community partnerships. These experiences help to broaden horizons, build cultural capital and inspire children to develop their talents and interests.
