Welcome to Pine's class learning page. On this page you will be able to find information about our learning in school such as our topic overview each half term, or any important messages.

Our topic for this half term is 'Starry Night'. This project teaches children about the importance of a good nights sleep and helps the to discover what is happening in the world whilst theyare sleeping, including finding out about nocturnal animas and people who work at night.

Key Texts:

Peace at Last - Jill Murphy

Owl Babies - Martin Waddell

How to Catch a Star - Oliver Jefferies

We will also be teaching the children about 'Keeping Safe' in their classroom, home and outside. We will be learning about how to keep our bodies healthy and safe, and name ways to stay safe around medicines. We will also be thinking about naming adults in our lives who keep us safe.

P.E. day is Thursday. Children will get changed at school and PE kits will be sent home each half term.

Welly Walk -  Friday afternoon (please ensure your child has wellies in school for this)

Water bottles - Please send your child in with their water bottle everyday and we then send this home with them each afternoon.

Home learning:

1) Phonics - each day we will learn a new phonics sound. Please use the red phonics book to practise the sounds and actions at home.

2) Reading -  new reading books will be sent home each week, usually on a Wednesday. Your child will also have rainbow words sent home. Please practise these daily.

If you have any questions about anything then please do hot hesitate to speak to Mrs Montgomery or Mrs Hallam.
